Scottie is devastated after finding out the true results of his child’s paternity test, and he breaks down emotionally, angrily confronting his wife in public.

Scottie Rivers was the kind of man who believed in love, loyalty, and most of all—family. He had been married to Mariah for seven years, and together they were raising their six-year-old son, Jayden. Everyone in the neighborhood admired them as the picture-perfect family.

But Scottie had been living with a quiet doubt for some time. Jayden’s features didn’t quite resemble his. There were subtle differences, enough to plant a seed of suspicion that slowly grew into unease. At first, he brushed it off. “Maybe he takes after Mariah’s side,” he’d tell himself. But the whispers from so-called friends and the nagging feeling in his gut pushed him to do something he never thought he would—get a paternity test.

He went through with it in secret.

When the results came back, Scottie sat alone in his car outside the clinic, staring at the paper in disbelief. “Probability of paternity: 0%.”

His hands trembled. His heart pounded like a drum in his chest. Everything blurred. The boy he had fed, bathed, and loved like his own—wasn’t biologically his.

That night, the neighborhood was hosting a block party. Scottie didn’t plan on going, but he showed up anyway—eyes swollen, heart heavy, clutching the paper like a weapon of truth.

As Mariah chatted with friends under twinkling lights, Scottie walked up to her. The smile on her face vanished when she saw the look in his eyes.

“You lied to me,” he said, voice breaking but loud enough for the crowd to hush.

“Scottie, what are you talking about?” she whispered, already sensing what was coming.

“You told me Jayden was mine. I raised that boy thinking I was his father!” he shouted, his voice full of pain and betrayal.

Gasps echoed around them. Mariah stood frozen, her eyes wide.

“You let me love him like he was mine,” Scottie continued, tears now freely streaming down his face. “How could you keep something like this from me?”

People began pulling their children away, awkwardly stepping back as the truth spilled out in front of everyone.

Mariah looked like she might collapse. “Scottie, I never meant for it to happen this way,” she murmured.

But it was too late. The damage was done.

Scottie dropped the test results at her feet and walked away, each step heavier than the last. He didn’t know what would happen next, but one thing was clear—his world would never be the same again.
