Tragedy Strikes Buffalo Bills: Star Player and Fiancée Involved in Devastating Highway Collision
April 25, 2025 – Buffalo, NY
In the late hours of Thursday evening, the Buffalo Bills organization and its devoted fanbase were shaken by heartbreaking news. Star wide receiver Marcus “Flash” Bennett and his fiancée, Alyssa Hart, were involved in a serious car accident while traveling on Interstate 190 near downtown Buffalo. The couple was reportedly heading home from a venue tour as part of their upcoming wedding preparations.
According to preliminary reports from the Buffalo Police Department, the couple’s SUV was struck by a large transport truck that lost control during a sudden lane change. Witnesses say the crash caused both vehicles to veer off the highway, resulting in significant damage. Emergency crews arrived swiftly on the scene, where both Bennett and Hart were extracted from the wreckage and transported to Erie County Medical Center.
Hospital officials confirmed late last night that Bennett, 27, suffered multiple fractures but remains in stable condition. Hart, 26, is currently in critical condition and undergoing surgery. The couple’s dog, also in the vehicle, did not survive the crash.
The Bills organization issued a brief statement:
“Our thoughts and prayers are with Marcus, Alyssa, and their families during this incredibly difficult time. Marcus is a beloved member of our team and community. We are doing everything we can to support him and his loved ones.”
Teammates, fans, and fellow NFL players flooded social media with messages of hope and solidarity, using the hashtag #PrayForFlash.
Bennett, a two-time Pro Bowler and fan favorite, was coming off a career-best season and had been expected to lead the team’s offense in the upcoming season. His absence will undoubtedly be felt on and off the field, but for now, the football world holds its breath, hoping for recovery and healing.
