Fans on social media have reacted to Greg Norman’s recent update regarding reports that LIV Golf is searching for a new CEO. A few days ago, news surfaced online suggesting that the Saudi-backed circuit was seeking a new leader.
In an exclusive interview with Sports Illustrated, Greg Norman, the current CEO of LIV Golf, addressed these reports. The Shark revealed that his contract with LIV would end by 2025 and that time would dictate what would happen after that.
“I’ll answer it this way: My contract is through August of 2025. My commitment to LIV has been unquestioned and my commitment into the future is also unquestioned. Time will tell. Will there be a change in my role? My position and my role is to deliver 2025 and get our schedule done and all the things we need to do,” Norman said.

Fans on social media reacted to the update, with some assuming the series was falling apart.
“LIV is falling apart,” one more fan wrote.
“Tiger hates him. So I’m sure in order for any deal to move forward Norman not being involved is non-negotiable. Can’t feel bad for Norman as I’m sure he has made a bucket load of dough. But once Tiger got on that board this was always how it was going to go down,” a fan wrote.

Meanwhile, several others expressed hope that a change in leadership might foster growth in the ongoing negotiations between the PGA Tour and PIF, the financial backbone of LIV Golf. Notably, these merger talks between the two rival series have been ongoing since 2023 but have yet to reach a final agreement.
“With a better ceo on both sides there would already be a deal in place,” a fan jotted.
“If he was not the CEO a deal would have been done already,” another fan commented.
