Ever since, it has been a downward ride. No wins, no top-10 finishes, and a rough 13-over score that left him at T71 in the British Open. But now he is back!

The six-time PGA Tour winner is currently competing in the Zozo Championship, and much to fans’ surprise and delight, his performance has indeed improved. Alongside Justin Thomas in the third round, Fowler didn’t just play; he put on a show. With a 6-under 64 on Friday, he matched his season low from the Travelers Championship’s opening round and marked his 10th consecutive round in the 60s during the FedEx Cup Fall.

It’s safe to say Fowler is hitting his stride right when it counts and has been on a roll since he came back from his 2.5-month hiatus; he has been on a roll. Short downtime with his family, including his new-born daughter Nellie, seems to be working like a charm. In his last two starts, the 35-year-old finished T16 at the Sanderson Farms Championship and T23 at the Shriners Children’s Open. Now, in Japan, he’s aiming to revive his form and make his first top-10 finish of 2024.

Rickie Fowler returned to the greens this Fall with a bigger aim in mind. “For me being close in majors and then to having some — a few off years, getting back to playing a bit more how I did two seasons ago and just playing some good golf and put myself in position to win tournaments. You know, [it would] be nice to be able to have a major, if not multiple, on the resume by the time I’m done with this,” said the golfer a few days ago.
