Josh Allen Blasts Bills’ First-Round Pick: “It’s Impossible to Work With Someone Like That”

Buffalo, NY — In a stunning post-draft controversy, Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen didn’t mince words when asked about the team’s newest first-round selection, cornerback Maxwell Hairston.
During an interview on Upstate Sports Radio, Allen delivered a scathing critique of the rookie before he’s even stepped on the practice field.
> “It’s not just that he’s unproven. There’s an attitude problem,” Allen said. “You walk into that locker room and it’s like a fog settles in. The energy shifts. It’s detestful, honestly.”
Eyebrows were raised across the league as Allen, typically known for his media composure, continued with what some are calling the most explosive locker room criticism of a rookie in recent memory.
> “We’re trying to build something tight here — a brotherhood. And I don’t care how fast you run or how many interceptions you had in college,” Allen continued. “If you act like you’re bigger than the team, it becomes impossible for the rest of us to do our jobs.”
Sources close to the team say there were tensions between Allen and Hairston during a closed-door orientation meeting last weekend, where the rookie allegedly dismissed input from veteran players and coaches.
While Head Coach Sean McDermott declined to directly address Allen’s comments, he acknowledged that “rookies have a lot to learn — both on and off the field — about what it means to be a Buffalo Bill.”
Fans on social media are deeply divided. Some support Allen’s blunt honesty and leadership, while others believe the quarterback should have addressed concerns privately.
Maxwell Hairston, when reached for comment, responded cryptically:
> “I didn’t come here to make friends. I came to lock down receivers. That’s what I’m going to do.”
If this tension continues, the Bills could be looking at a dramatic preseason — one that might test the locker room more than any opponent on the field.
