“I feel the need to speak out again”: Charley Hull warns her fans after a scamming incident
British golfer Charley Hull’s 11-year career as a professional golfer has earned her many fans and she has a sizable following on social media as well. On Instagram and X (formerly Twitter), Hull boasts 707k and 92.5k followers respectively.
Hull’s significant presence on social media has led to a scam taking place in her name. On Instagram, the two-time LPGA Tour winner wrote a post in which she warned her fans about a scam that has been running in her name.
Hull wrote:
“I mentioned this a few weeks ago but after an incident at a tournament recently, I feel the need to speak out again. I will never ask for money or gift cards in exchange for meet & greets or fan club membership. These clubs are fake and run by scammers. My team and I only use my official social media accounts, @charley.hull (Instagram) @hullcharley (X) at ALL times, there are no exceptions. I am not on Tik Tok. There are SO many fake accounts out there claiming to be me, if you are contacted by them please please report. Let’s all stick together so we can beat the scammers. (Please see links in bio for X and Facebook accounts).”
As of now, Charley Hull has not provided an update on the scam mentioned above. The only detail about this scam comes from her post where she mentions scammers asking for money and gift cards in return for meet and greets. Hull also warned her fans that she is not on the Telegram social media app.
